Bulambuli Justice Actors Meet Over Justice Delivery
Participants at the Bulambuli Magistrate Court Meeting held for the Justice Actors
Bulambuli Magistrates Court on Monday held a meeting chaired by the Resident Magistrate Grade I, HW Namankati Annet. She was joined by HW Katugume Fred Magistrate Grade I Sironko Chief Magistrates Court and Magistrate Grade II HW Satya Michael of Bulambuli Court.
HW Namankati thanked the stakeholders of the cordial relationship the court enjoys with other justice actors in the district.
She informed members that the Court was recently gazetted as a Chief Magistrate's Court with two more Magistrates Courts yet to be operationalized.
The meeting discussed different issues affecting justice delivery. This included failure of the Remand Home to produce juveniles in both Bulambuli and Sironko courts, delays in committing to the High Court suspected capital offenders and capital offenders escaping from prison.
The meeting resolved that Court will hold some sessions at the Remand Home in Mbale. Ms Tumuhaise Rose, an Assistant DPP committed to ensure committal documents are prepared to enable some committal proceedings for suspected capital offenders to be done at Mutufu Prison.
In attendance; State Attorney from Sironko, DPC Bulambuli, Deputy CID Bulambuli CPS, Prisons officers, representatives of Justice Centres Uganda, among others.
